2015 U.S. Championship Overview

2015 U.S. Championship LogoThe 2015 U.S. Championship is a 12-player Round Robin tournament hosted by the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis. Featuring 12 of the best American chess players, the Championship represents the pinnacle of American chess each year.

Held concurrently with the 2015 U.S. Women's Championship, competitors in the 2015 U.S. Championship will battle from April 1st through 13th for the title of U.S. Champion and a top prize of $45,000. If one lucky competitor is able to reproduce Bobby Fischer's 1963-64 U.S. Championship 11-0 performance by winning every game, they earn a bonus prize of $64,000. The top five players will also qualify to play in the World Championship cycle.

This marks the seventh consecutive year that the Chess Club & Scholastic Center of Saint Louis will host the U.S. Championship. Special thanks to the U.S. Chess Federation.
