2016 Saint Louis Invitational

Over the course of six days, the 2016 Saint Louis Invitational will bring together 20 chess players to earn their Grandmaster and International Master norms. Through two 10-player round robin events and nine rounds, these competitors will battle for their corresponding GM and IM norms alongside $4,500 in prize money.

It is the mission of the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis to support and promote professional chess. GM and IM norm events give up-and-coming players the opportunity to earn a GM or IM norm. Players need three GM norms and a rating of 2500 FIDE to earn the grandmaster title.
